THE BRIEF

The owners of City Slice, a new pizza restaurant in Gainesville, FL approached me to take on their website design and digital marketing efforts for the their new business. Their mission was simple, to offer high quality, affordable, and convenient food, while creating a friendly community dedicated to serving each other. With that goal in mind, they asked me to create a website that reflects the fun, casual nature of City Slice, and promotes their specials, including their $1 cheese slice deal and daily lunch specials. They also wanted an eCommerce store to sell their homemade sauce, and pages set up for social media and local listings.

My Approach

To meet their needs, I knew I  had to design the City Slice website in a way that organizes a large amount of information, while also displaying several photos in order to attract customers to their food. I chose a full screen slider for the homepage so I could splash their $1 slice special and have plenty for room to add information about their menu, hours, phone number and a button to see other specials. I used the fonts from their menu and a black, red, white, and green color scheme to match the way the walls are painted in the restaurant. When I combined those elements with the professional food photos taken on their wooden tables their branding was complete. To promote their business I created Facebook, Instagram, Google My Business, and Yelp pages and optimized them for search engines and conversions.

THE RESULTS

Since opening day I have managed their website, social media and local listings pages by creating enticing posts and paid ads, and frequently updating information and content. The reception so far has be excellent, with regular positive customer reviews and social shares, and busy lunch and dinner hours. They have recently opened their second location and have a third coming soon! While it is too soon to share analytics, the satisfaction of the owners and their customers has led to a long term working relationship between City Slice and Sandy Lotus Marketing!
